I don’t hear the announcements when my iPhone is locked.
Connect NextSet under Settings › Integrations › Apple Health – the app then stays active during your workout and speaks the announcements itself. Without that connection, announcements arrive as time-sensitive notifications: allow notifications for NextSet in iOS Settings, and note that Silent Mode and Focus can mute them. Alternatively, “Keep Screen On” (Settings › Notifications) keeps NextSet in the foreground.
My music gets quieter during announcements.
That’s intended: the music only gets quieter for a moment and then comes back; it never stops. Under Settings › Announcements & Sounds you can turn off “Lower Music During Announcements” and adjust voice, language, speed and volume.
The music player below the timer is missing.
On first launch it only appears if you have an Apple Music subscription. You can turn it on or off at any time under Settings › Display › Show Music Player.
Widgets only show gray placeholders.
After your iPhone restarts, widgets show a placeholder until it’s unlocked for the first time; the data appears within a few minutes at the latest or when you open NextSet. If widgets stay gray, it usually helps to restart your iPhone, update or reinstall NextSet and add the widgets again.
My logbook doesn’t appear on my iPad.
Check under Settings › Data & iCloud that both devices are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account and that “Sync Automatically” is turned on. You’ll also see pending changes there and can tap “Sync Now”. Changes made without a connection follow automatically.
How do I install NextSet on my Apple Watch?
The watch app is included with NextSet. Open the Watch app on your iPhone and install NextSet on your Apple Watch from there. Workouts you record without your iPhone nearby are transferred automatically later.
NextSet doesn’t save workouts in Apple Health.
Check that the connection under Settings › Integrations › Apple Health is turned on and that NextSet may save workouts in the Health app under Profile › Apps › NextSet.
